Yes, a referral letter from your GP or consultant is required before a scan can be arranged.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring a list of current medications, and details of any past bone-related treatments or surgeries.

Not at all. DXA scans are non-invasive, painless, and typically take less than 20 minutes.
