About Us
Blackrock DXA has been providing bone density scanning services from within Blackrock Clinic since the late 1990s.
Initially part of the Irish Health Care health screening service, the DXA department continued operating seamlessly even after the screening programme ceased in 2018. Since then, it has been known independently as Blackrock DXA, with an unwavering commitment to excellence in bone health assessment.

For Health Professionals:
Refer via Healthlink’s National General Referral Form using “Blackrock DXA Dublin”, or use this email address:
dxa.blackrock@healthmail.ie
Please note:
A referral letter from your GP or consultant is required to book a scan. This is in line with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations due to the use of low-dose radiation. The referral should include relevant risk factors or reasons for the scan (e.g., fracture history, osteoporosis, family history).
At the time of your scan, please bring details of previous fractures, surgeries, and bone-related medications (past and current). This information assists our technologist in tailoring the scan reporting and recommendations sent to your doctor.
